How is it diagnosed?

Heartburn is the main symptom of acid reflux that causes severe stomach ache. Tests are recommended when the symptoms are severe or if treatment does not cure the acid reflex. Tests may also be advised if you are over age 50, when symptoms first appear.

What are the treatments options?

Antacids (Alkali Liquids or Tablets)

Acid-suppressing medicines

Two groups of medicines are used histamine receptor blockers [H2 antagonists] and proton pump inhibitors [PPIs]. They reacted in distinct ways, but both lower the quantity of acid that you make in the stomach.
